METRO SCHOOLS START TODAY, KIDS NEED IMMUNIZATION RECORDS! 
After all the trouble you went to to buy school supplies, get the kids up and get them ready for school, make sure they're not going to be sent back HOME. Make sure they have the immunizations they need, and the immunization CERTIFICATE when they walk through that school door, or they'll be sent hom. Joe Bass with Metro Schools says every year about HALF the kids who are supposed to have the records, don't.  You can go to your health care provider or health department and they'll know what shots you need, and give you the certificate. 

MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO KILLING IN-LAWS WITH BOMB 
The Wilson County man accused of killing his in-laws with a homemade bomb will spend the rest of his life in prison.  Richard Parker pleaded guilty on Tuesday to premeditated murder and will serve two consecutive life sentences without parole. Parker admitted he used a bomb disguised as a lamp to kill the couple because he owed Jon and Marion Setzer a lot of money.

BRENTWOOD PD WANTS FEEDBACK ON HOW THEY'RE DOING
The Brentwood Police Department wants to know how YOU think they're doing.  You can tell them August 13th at a public information session at the Municipal Center.  The meeting is part of the department's process of seeking reaccreditation.  (The Brentwood Police Department is the most tenured accredited agency in Tennessee.) Okay... and this would NOT be the time for comments like the facebook post that's going around.. where a police officer is standing by a car asking the woman driver, 'You know why I'm here..?" and she answers, "Cause you made all Cs in school?" LOL

HEALTH: CINNAMON CHALLENGE: BAD
And for the parent who posted on Facebook recently, "Here's my daughter's boyfriend taking the "The Cinnamon Challenge" and everyone who posted things like, "That's hysterical!" as the kid choked and coughed, doctors say it's a pretty dangerous stunt, and you probably don't want your kids doing it. The challenge is to try and swallow a spoonful of cinnamon. It makes you cough and if you inhale it, and can lead to infection and some serious consequences. So if your kids are cracking up over the Cinnamon challenge, make sure you know what it could lead to first. A high-school student in Michigan spent four days in a hospital after attempting the cinnamon

HEALTH: SOME CANCER SURVIVORS STILL SMOKE
It may be hard to believe, but a new study finds a lot of people who survive cancer, even lung cancer, just keep on smoking. Even after they've been treated for smoking-related cancer, about 15 percent still can't kick the habit.

Hopefully somebody will come up with an app that'll let you see how many big goof ups your potential hospital has made, because as of this month, the federal government has stopped reporting hospital errors. Public safety advocates say we consumers have a right to know what hospitals leave things inside people after surgeries!

MARTHA STEWART SISTER DIES
Martha Stewart's baby sister has died. Laura Plimpton was 59, and died unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. She was an organ donor.

FLYING AX SMASHES THROUGH WINDSHIELD
Holy... flying axe! Imagine driving down the highway and suddenly an AXE flies off the flatbed of the landscaping truck in front of you, smashes THROUGH THE passenger side of the car windshield and lodges in the dashboard. Nobody was hurt, but I'll bet they're still gettin' the smell out of the car.

APPARENTLY KID VIDEO GOES VIRAL
Have you see the "apparently" Kid? Little Noah who was being interviewed by a reporter at his county fair in Pennsylvania. Not only did the 6 year old have a proficient grasp on using the word "apparently" but he also sounded like a little Bill Cosby. His interview has gone viral, with millions of views, so far. TAYLOR SWIFT GIVES A FAN $90 TO BUY BIRTHDAY DINNER 
Awwww... Taylor Swift has done it again. The  pop star who surprises fans at their bridal showers, visits young kids with cancer, and gives tons of money to charity... is also.. the Chipotle fairy. She was doing an interview with a magazine when a fan in a rowboat paddled her way over to dry land to take a photo. When Taylor Swift found out it was her fan's birthday and they were all going to celebrate at Chipotle Mexican restaurant, Taylor pulled out 90 dollars from her bright yellow purse, and handed it over to help pay the tab!
