DOLLYWOOD SAYS WATER,SNOW PARK "A GO"
You may get to take the kids to a theme park here in Nashville after all.
First, Dolly Parton said the water and snow park was kind of "on hold..." but now officials with Dollywood and with Gaylord Entertainment say it's still "a go," and they're still committed to the project. 

SCHOOL BOARD VOTES TO START SCHOOL THURS. IN SUMNER COUNTY
Sumner County Schools will open tomorrow. The Board of Education and County Commission have gotten close enough on the budget gap to let the kids start their school year. They were supposed to have started August 6th.

POWERBALL JACKPOT UP TO 320 MILLION TONIGHT
If you every buy lottery tickets, you may want to tonight. The Powerball jackpot for tonight's drawing is up to 320 million dollars. That'd be a 142 MILLION dollar check with your name on it. 

TEEN ACCUSED OF MURDER TO UNDERGO PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION
The Hendersonville teenager accused of killing his mother this past Saturday has been court-ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. The judge also ruled that the boy's name can't be released to the public. 

"BOOZE IT AND LOSE IT" CAMPAIGN STARTS TODAY
The state-wide "Booze It and Lose It" campaign starts today, with State Troopers and police out in full force to catch people who are driving impaired. You may even lose your license if you're caught drinking and driving.

METRO COP CAUGHT WITH POT BROWNIES, TERMINATED
Another Metro Police officer has been arrested. Officer Edward Karl was caught with pot brownies  at a drug checkpoint in Kansas. He's been fired. Two other Metro Police officers were arrested over the weekend: Robert Shouse for trespassing, and Albert Ridgeway for domestic violence.

NASHVILLE COUPLE ARRESTED FOR LEAVING FOUR-MONTH-OLD UNATTENDED IN VEHICLE 
A Nashville couple is facing charges in Indiana for leaving their four-month old child unattended in a vehicle. They say they left the baby in the truck while they were grocery shopping. The child is okay.

KRISPY KREME RELEASES COTTON CANDY AND CARAMEL APPLE DONUTS
Krispy Kreme has come out with new Fair-food inspired  donuts: Cotton Candy and Caramel Apple flavors roll out Monday.

RON PALILLO DIES
Actor Ron Palillo has passed away. He starred on the TV show "Welcome Back Kotter," as Horshack, the eager student who was first with his hand up every time Mr. Kotter asked a question. Ron was 63, and it appears he had a heart attack.

GEORGE JONES FINAL TOUR
Singer George Jones says he's doing a diet album with Dolly Parton, then his final tour next year, and that's it. He's retiring. He's 80 now, and has been on the road more than 50 years.

PLANES COLLIDE AT NASHVILLE AIRPORT 
So that bulletin that went to your phone yesterday about two planes colliding at the Nashville airport turns out to be less serious than it sounded. But still, the FAA is investigating how it could have happened. One plane was being towed, and it somehow came loose from the tug and crashed into another plane. No one was onboard either plane so there were no injuries.

ELVIS CELEBRATION IN MEMPHIS
There's a big concert tonight in Memphis, to honor the memory of Elvis Presley. The legend passed away 35 years ago, and his birthday would have been tomorrow. Some of his famous former band members will be part of the tribute concert, including DJ Fontana, Elvis' longtime drummer, studio musician Bobby Wood, Larry Paxton and others.
