ADELE SAYS SHE'S TAKING A BREAK FROM MUSIC
British singer Adele says she's quitting music, for at least four or five years. The 23-year-old singer, who won six Grammy awards Sunday for her chart-dominating album "21", told Vogue magazine she wants to take some time away from her grueling work schedule to spend more time with her boyfriend. She says maybe she'll get married, have some kids, plant a vegetable patch, and be able to write happier songs. The break would give her voice a rest too. Her performance at the Grammys was her first since having vocal cord surgery back in November.
CASH MUSEUM SLATED FOR SUMMER OPENING
Nashville's getting a Johnny Cash Museum later this year. It'll open on Third Avenue between Demonbreun Street and Broadway in downtown Nashville, and feature historical documents, letters, awards, costumes and instruments. Founders say they hope to make it the best celebrity museum in the world, and a huge draw for Nashville tourism.

HEALTH: MANY POPULAR LIPSTICK BRANDS CONTAIN LEAD
Before you pull out that lipstick, you need to hear the latest: a study by the Food and Drug Administration found 400 lipsticks on the market tested positive for lead. The cheapest brand was, surprisingly, the LEAST contaminated: Wet & Wild Mega Mixers Lip Balm. Five L'Oreal and Maybelline lipsticks had the most lead, with Maybelline Color Sensation by L'Oreal containing 275 times more lead than Wet and Wild. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics wants the government to set limits for lead levels in lipsticks. The FDA, however, says the amount of lead they detected does NOT pose safety risks.
MAN GIVES KIDNEY TO VALENTINE
What did YOU give to your loved on for Valentine's day? A guy is recovering at Vanderbilt Medical Center after giving his girlfriend a KIDNEY. They'd been dating for four months when Trisha Beckwith was diagnosed with Lupis, which damaged both hers. Her family was ruled out as donors, so Terry Lee stepped up, and offered his. He says he didn't want to lose her.
WHITNEY HOUSTON FANS UPSET AT LACK OF PUBLIC SERVICE
Some of Whitney Houston's fan are angry there will be no public memorial service in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey. Houston's family has specifically asked Newark officials to not plan a memorial event. The Houston family has asked for privacy when it comes to Houston's funeral and burial on Saturday. Attendance at Houston's Saturday afternoon sendoff is by invitation only after Houston's mom, Cissy, insisted the ceremony be held in her home church in Newark instead of the nearby Prudential Center. Instead of mourners being accommodated at the 19,000-seat arena, friends and family will have to squeeze into one of New Hope Baptist Church's 1,500 spots. "This is their private time," said funeral home director Carolyn Whigham. "They have shared her for 30-some years with the city, with the state, with the world. This is their time now for their farewell."
BABYFACE SAYS WHITNEY'S DEATH HER OWN FAULT
A lot of people were thinking it, but R&B star Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds finally said it, that the death of Whitney Houston was in part her own fault. He was on "Piers Morgan Tonight" last night, and everybody was blaming everyone else for her death: her family, her friends, and Babyface said it's hard to hear, but Whitney was ultimately responsible for herself. He said she was always the type of person who was going to do what she wanted. Her funeral is set for Saturday, by the way, in Newark.
M'BORO FIRE CREWS INSTALL SPECIAL ALARMS FOR ELDERLY, HEARING IMPAIRED
The Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department is using it's FEMA grant to install special alarms for elderly and hearing impaired local people. Firefighters are installing smoke alarms called bed shakers, like putting your alarm on vibrate, and alarms that flash strobe lights as well as the siren when smoke is detected. If you know someone in Murfreesboro who needs one of the alarms, you can call your local fire station, and they'll put you on the list.
RUTHERFORD SHERIFF HIRES ISLAM CRITIC TO TEACH ABOUT CULTURE
The Rutherford County Sheriff has hired someone to teach cultural awareness training sessions to his staff...but the person he's hired is an outspoken CRITIC of Islamic organizations, including the mosque being built in Rutherford County. Sheriff Robert Arnold claims he just wants his department to learn about Muslim culture.
HEALTH: ANTIBIOTICS USELESS AGAINST MOST SINUS INFECTIONS
A new health study says even though antibiotics are one of the most commonly-prescribed treatments for sinus infections, for most of them they work no better than a placebo. ( The study appears in the "Journal of the American Medical Association." )
CONGRESS HAS TENTATIVE DEAL TO EXTEND PAYROLL TAX CUTS
Congress has a tentative deal to extend payroll tax cuts. The deal hammered out by members of a House-Senate committee also extends unemployment benefits and prevents a cut in Medicare reimbursements to doctors. The agreement will have to pass both the Republican-controlled House and the Democrat-controlled Senate.
APPLE SAYS IT'S DOING SOMETHING ABOUT CHINA WORKING CONDITIONS
Apple is doing something in the wake of complaints about working conditions at its overseas operations. Apple CEO Tim Cook says the company takes working conditions within its supply chain very seriously. Cook's comments follow reports of poor working conditions at an Apple-linked company in China. Cook says using underage labor is "abhorrent" and will not be tolerated.
BEST OF SHOW CHOSEN
A Pekingese name Malachy is a celebrity of the dog world. Malachy won the coveted "Best in Show" prize at the Westminster Kennel Club's 136th Annual Dog Show. More than a thousand dogs were shown in an assortment of classes. It was the first time Malachy has won this particular event, though he has 114 Best in Show ribbons from others.
NEW 7-STORY HOTEL TO BE BUILT NEAR VANDERBILT
There's a new seven story hotel in the works off West End Avenue, near the Vanderbilt University campus. Homewood Stuites will have an indoor pool, underground parking, meeting rooms and a boardroom. Construction starts in March and should be finished by next summer.
BUTT-DIAL LEADS TO DRUG BUST
A couple was arrested in Florida, after the woman accidentally pocket-dialed 9-1-1 from her phone, and police dispatchers HEARD them making a drug deal. When cops caught up to them, the woman said, "It couldn't have been us, my phone's been disconnected." Police reminded her that in her state, 9-1-1 still works even if the phone bill's not paid.

A longtime high school football coach in Maine has resigned after one of the more embarrassing and bizarre social media goofs in recent memory. The coach accidentally posted a nude photo of himself on Facebook... for all the world to see. Says he meant to send it to just his girlfriend.
