Legislation to protect teachers who allow students to criticize evolution will become law without the governor's signature. Gov. Haslam said he doesn't believe the legislation accomplishes anything that isn't already acceptable in schools. It’s the first time he’s allowed a bill to become law without his signature.
Jobs are coming to Williamson County, and an upcoming job fair will connect job seekers to more than 10 hiring companies. The job fair is sponsored by Goodwill Career Solutions in Franklin and it happens tomorrow from 10-12.

New information is coming out in the Trayvon Martin shooting investigation. Special prosecutor Angela Corey says she will conduct a news conference "within the next 72 hours." Corey has to decide whether to bring criminal charges against George Zimmerman who fatally shot Martin. Zimmerman has said it was an act of self-defense.
Fired Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino is apologizing. Petrino admitted that he engaged in an improper relationship and made several poor decisions. The married Petrino had a 25-year-old female football employee as a passenger when he wrecked his motorcycle April 1st.
People who smoke menthol cigarettes are more likely to suffer a stroke. The Archives of Internal Medicine” found that menthol cigarette smokers were more than twice as likely to have a stroke compared to people who smoke non-menthol cigarettes.

A Bridgeport, Connecticut man is facing charges after his five-year-old step-son showed up at school with packages of heroin. The kindergartener was proudly showing off the powdery substance he'd taken to class for show and tell. Police were called and the powder tested positive for the addictive drug.
