LOCAL: 32 TEENS ESCAPE FROM DCS FACILITY IN BORDEAUX
At least 32 teenagers escaped from a Department of Children's Services facility in Bordeaux late last night … the Woodland Hills Youth Development Center on Stewarts Lane. Police think the kids, all between 14 and 17, pulled up a fence to get out. Some have been recaptured... but not all. News2 reports that it takes three felony offenses for kids to be housed at Woodland Hills. You're asked to call metro police if you see one of the kids. Their uniform is dark blue pants, gray or white shirt and black shoes. (615-862-8600.)

WATER RESCUE CREWS SAVE MADISON, TN. MAN SWEPT AWAY BY FLOOD
Randall Kirby's home in Madison...north of town... was flooded a year ago from a heavy rain. This week, Kirby nearly died when a creek near his house flooded and he, for some reason, ended up in the creek, and got swept away. Rescuers were able to pull him out, but say it's a wonder he's alive. They got to him when he was only 150 feet away from where the creek drops off into the Cumberland River.

JOAN RIVERS CONDITION TO BE ASSESSED TODAY
Doctors at Mount Sinai Hospital are bringing 81-year-old comedienne Joan Rivers out of the medically-induced coma they put her in after she stopped breathing and her heart stopped during a medical procedure on her vocal cords.  Her family is said to be considering a lawsuit against the clinic. 

Joan called in to the mix morning show recently to talk about her new book.
And she was her usual self: funny, cracking jokes.
Doctors will assess the damage to her brain today, but word is not good. They fear her motor skills have been severely damaged and she could be  left in a vegetative state.

AMERICAN FORCES GOING AFTER MILITANTS IN SOMALIA
American forces are deployed. They're going after al-Shabaab militants in Somalia. Al-Shabaab is said to be linked to al-Qaeda. 

HEALTH: E-CIGS RELEASE HARMFUL METALS INTO THE AIR
E-cigarettes are somewhat safer for smokers, but they're still dangerous, to people areound the smokers. still release some dangerous toxins into the air.  Researchers at the University of Southern California report that secondhand smoke from e-cigarettes contains high levels of harmful metals.  The researchers say the metal particles in e-cigarette smoke probably come from the cartridges in the devices. 
 
JENNIFER LAWRENCE, KATE UPTON AND MORE INVOLVED IN MASSIVE PHOTO LEAK 
There’s apparently been a big hacking by a big pervert, or a group of them. An anonymous poster claims on a popular hacker board online, that it took a team and several months, to make it happen, but they got into iCloud accounts and stole, and posted about 100 nude photos of celebrities. Some celebs say their photos are real, others say they're fake.

APPLE SAYS IT’S PATCHED A SECURITY GAP THAT COULD HAVE ALLOWED HACKERS IN
Meanwhile, Apple says it’s patched a security gap that could have let hackers in through the Find My iPhone feature through the site Github.

METRO POLICE HAVE INCREASED TEXTING AND DRIVING CITATIONS 
It may be more important than the birds and bees talk.. the don't use the phone and drive talk. Safety experts ayPolice have also been busy writing more tickets for texting and driving. Up more than 100 percent over the past two years. Texting and driving is only a 50 dollar fine, but it's still killing people, and injuring others. ( The National Highway Safety Administration reports that) 10 percent of all drivers under the age of 20 involved in fatal crashes were reported as distracted at the time of the crash.

TAYLOR SWIFT SIGNS ON WITH "THE VOICE "
Taylor Swift has signed on to be on the TV singing competition "The Voice" this season. The 24-year-old joins Stevie Wonder, Little Big Town and Alicia Keys as an advisor. They each work with one of the main judges. The Voice starts back September 22nd.
 
LONGMIRE CANCELED
A&E has canceled "Longmire." Word is, though, that A&E is shopping the series to other networks.

JENNY MCCARTHY GETS MARRIED
There was some happy news this weekend for former View co-host Jenny McCarthy and Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg. They got married. 

ASHLEE SIMPSON MARRIES
And Ashlee Simpson got married this weekend to Evan Ross. Son of Diana Ross.  Her new mother in law not only planned the wedding, but sang at the ceremony as well.
 
NEW HERSHEY LOGO HAS SOME UPSET
In today's world of emoticons, and emojis, which are pictures that convey a set meaning... some people are upset that the new Hershey Logo has a candy kiss at the end,  which SOME say looks like poo with steam rising.

DOGS HAVE HARD TIME AS KIDS GO BACK TO SCHOOL
Back to school isn't just hard on parents and kids. As many as 20% of family DOGS have separation anxiety when the kids disappear each day. Veterinarian Nick Dodman says instead of indulging the dog's whining, chewing, anxiety with baby talk or sympathy... make the departure a happy time with toys and treats, and see a vet if it's really bad.

SHORTER MEN DIVORCE RATE LOWER
The short guy doesn't always get the girl, but when he does, he usually gets to keep her. A new study finds that men 5'7" and under are 18 percent less likely to marry than taller guys, but, 32 percent less likely to divorce. They also tend to earn more than their partners more often than taller men out-earn theirs.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD ANNOUNCES PREGNANCY VIA INSTAGRAM
Carrie Underwood has announced she's expecting! She and NHL player Mike Fisher posted the announcement on their social media accounts yesterday. Carrie Instagrammed it by posting a photo of her with two dogs, and both the dogs were wearing shirts that said, "I'm going to be a big brother/sister."  The 31-year-old former American Idol winner is expecting her new baby in the spring.

The exclusive wedding photos from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's wedding on August 23rd are out. They're featured in this week's People magazine, and include Jolie's unique dress, decorated with her children's artwork, and the entire family's celebration.  The couple's six kids all had a role in the wedding.

 PRETENDING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT BABIES SAY CAN MAKE THEM SMARTER
Parents who talk to their babies as if they understand them, are doing something pretty special. Researchers now say that talking to the baby as if you understand her, helps her learn to speak real words, sooner. When she babbles, "da da," for example, you say, "Da da is not here, I'm Ma ma." The baby starts getting it, that the sounds she's making, means something.
