MIDDLE SCHOOL SHOOTING ON MONDAY LEAVES TWO DEAD
Wow! What do you say to your kids after there's been a school shooting!? Especially when you hear that the shooter may have been bullied? In Nevada, yesterday, a middle school student brought a weapon to school, killed a male teacher, wounded two twelve-year-old boys, then killed himself. A girl who witnessed the shooting said the kid had been bullied, and she heard him saying, "Why you people making fun of me? Why you laughing at me?"
 
DOLLY RESTING AFTER MINOR FENDER BENDER IN NASHVILLE MONDAY
Dolly Parton says she's "all good," just sore and resting, after being involved in a traffic accident yesterday morning in Nashville, at the intersection of Vaulx Lane and Kirkwood. The fender bender happened when a woman driving another vehicle failed to yield, and her car and the one Dolly was a passenger in, collided. No word yet on whether the other driver will be ticketed. (The 67-year-old singer later tweeted about the crash saying she's "tired and sore" but resting at home.)

HARD FREEZE EXPECTED THIS WEEK, GET READY!
Be warned, we are still expecting a hard freeze THIS WEEK! That means you'll need to do something about the plants, unhook the water hoses, cover anything that a freeze will hurt. Right now, that overnight freeze is expected Thursday night.

SNOWY WINTER? WHAT DOES WKRN'S JUSTIN BRUCE SAY?
And since we've started our cold weather a little early this year... does that mean we should expect a colder, snowy winter? Our New2 meteorologist Justin Bruce, says, NO. Bruce says, right now it still looks like we'll have a typical Tennessee winter with snowflakes, few and far between. 

TITANS OWNER PASSES AWAY
Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams has passed away. Team officials say he Bud Adams died "peacefully from natural causes" at his home in Houston.  He was 90 years old.

STUDY: LACK OF SLEEP LINKED TO ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
A new study of older adults shows that poor sleep patterns may be closely linked to Alzheimer's disease. The study by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health found those who don't sleep well have a build-up of beta-amyloid protein in their brains... the same substance often found in brains of those who had Alzheimer's.  The researchers say that means its more important than ever that we focus on getting good sleep. ("JAMA Neurology.")

Did you see that woman who nearly fainted as President Barack Obama was giving his speech yesterday? Karmel Allison was on stage behind him and got wobbly. She says she's pregnant and has diabetes, and hadn't had much water that morning because she was worried she'd have to use the restroom. She is alright. Allison says she was there because she's had a positive experience while researching options under Obamacare. 

PAIN CLINIC SHUT DOWN BY STATE
You know the Bradlake Medical Center? Well, the 'pain management clinic' has been shut down after an investigation by the Tennessee Department of Health. They say the doctor at Bradlake, on Maple leaf drive, was inappropriately prescribing medicine, taking cash payments and failing to use drug screens or pill counts. The clinic has been closed, and the doctor is barred from practicing pain management. He still has his license, he just can't prescribe schedule II or schedule III narcotics.

Another new study finds that if you're spanking children when they're 5, instead of explaining right and wrong to them, they're more likely to be aggressive in elementary school, and they're less verbal. (The study was recently published in the journal "Pediatrics." )

TEXTING DRIVERS BEHIND SPIKE IN TN. HIGHWAY DEATHS?

It's illegal to text and drive, here in Tennessee. But, not only are people still doing it ( because it's hard to catch), but Tennessee Highway Patrol officers say they think texting while driving is to blame for a SPIKE in highway traffic deaths. If we keep going like we are, we'll have more traffic deaths this year than last.

HEALTHCARE WEBSITE PROBLEMS WERE NO SURPRISE
The problems people experience while trying to sign in to the new government healthcare website are not a surprise, after all. The Washington Post reports that HealthCare.gov crashed during pre-launch trial runs, but was rolled out October 1st, anyway, to meet the program's deadline.

ONE IN THREE AMERICANS HAVE A TABLET COMPUTER, AND NEW, CHEAP ONE ON THE WAY
What's going to be a hot Christmas gift? Some think it'll be a tablet computer. More than one in three Americans now have a tablet computer, and, just in time for the holidays, Intel says it's about to roll out a new one, that'll cost 99 dollars.

WALKING DEAD CONVENTION NEXT MONTH IN ATLANTA EXPECTED TO DRAW 10 THOUSAND
There's going to be a "Walking Dead" convention next month in Atlanta. They're expecting 10,000 people to attend.

When Oklahoma teenager Tana Clymer heard about a young boy who'd found a 5-carat diamond at Arkansas' Crater of Diamonds State Park earlier this year, she wanted to try her luck. The 14 year old , Tana, dug and sifted through dirt in the 37-acre park for about two hours when she found a jellybean-sized, teardrop-shaped, yellow 'canary diamond'. 3.8 carats. She says, "I think God pointed me to it. I was about to sprint to join my family, and God told me to slow down and look. Then I found the diamond." Tana said she said a prayer of thanks and named her diamond the God's Jewel diamond.
