WHAT ID DO YOU NEED TO VOTE?
If you're voting today, remember that you'll need a photo id. A driver license, or military photo i.d. is accepted. Passport, Federal or state employee I.d..
Student ID cards from state universities are NOT acceptable... but... if you're a student and you're carrying... you can use your concealed handgun permit as Id... if it has a photo. MORE AMERICANS DIE ON ROAD ON PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION DAY

A study done a few years ago, when most people waited till election day to vote, found that you're more likely to be in a fatal crash on that day, than a normal Tuesday.
It has to do with people driving distracted, more people on the roads, and people who don't drive often, or don't drive well, getting out to vote.

CANDIDATES TODAY
President Obama is at home in Chicago on this Election Day, waiting for Americans to decide whether to give him another four years in the Oval Office. Republican challenger Mitt Romney will vote in his suburban Boston hometown before heading out for rallies in Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

Did a celebrity endorsement make you decide to vote for a certain politician? NO? Well, that’s what most people say. Politicians may not need to bring so much star power to their campaigns, because we apparently just don't care. On a related forum: most people say they're not going to change their political views because of something a friend posts on a social networking site, however, we are more likely to vote if we've seen that all our friends have.

So far, in early voting, fewer Tennesseans had voted than in the 2008 presidential election, though this year's early voting was still second highest ever.

And on Election Day, just what is the rule about YOU getting time off to vote? You get up to three hours of paid time to do it, IF you don't have three hours available before or after work while the polls are still open, and if you notified your boss by noon YESTERDAY that you needed the time.

PUERTO RICO VOTES ON WHETHER TO JOIN U.S.
Puerto Ricans will vote today on whether the island will ask to become the 51st U.S. state. Our Congress members would then decide whether to approve the request for statehood, or not.

WILL THIS AFFECT GAS PRICES ?
Here’s a nail in the coffin of low gas prices: Phillips 66 says it will not have "normal operations" at its big Bayway refinery in Linden, New Jersey for two to three weeks. The plant has been shut down since October 29th because of damage to electrical equipment from Hurricane Sandy.

FUNGAL MENINGITIS
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say 15 more people have been diagnosed with fungal meningitis in the outbreak linked to tainted steroid injections. That brings the total to 419 cases reported in 19 states. At least 30 people have died. The contaminated injections all came from the New England Compounding Center in Framington, Massachusetts.

BUDWEISER WANTS TO BLUR BEER NAMES IN MOVIE 'FLIGHT'
Anheuser-Busch wants to limit the alcohol served on Denzel Washington's "Flight." The brewing company has asked Paramount Pictures to obscure images of its Budweiser beer in Washington's new drama about an airline pilot accused of drinking and flying.
 

FRANKLIN MAN INVESTIGATED FOR STEALING ROMNEY TAX RETURNS
A Franklin man is under investigation in connection with the alleged theft of Mitt Romney's tax returns. Secret Service agents say Michael Brown hacked into a computer network, stole the tax returns of Mitt and Ann Romney, then tried to blackmail them for a million dollars, saying if they didn't pay up... he'd release the information to the media. Brown was investigated a few years ago for information stolen from Farm Bureau customers...

VOICES DETERMINE VOTE CHOICE
You may think you're casting your vote for the candidate that best represents your political, economic and social views, but it could be something else that attracts you to that individual: the tenor of his or her voice. And this held true whether the speaker was a man or a woman. In fact, women with lower voices were perceived to be stronger, more trustworthy and more competent than those whose voices were higher.

TITANS OWNER PUTS ORGANIZATION ON NOTICE
After Sunday's 51-to-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, the owner of the Tennessee Titans has put the organization on notice. Bud Adams said "In my 50-years of owning an NFL franchise, I am at a loss to recall a regular season home game that was such a disappointment for myself and fans of the Titans." Coach Mike Munchak says he understands why Adams is upset, adding, "I would be upset too if I were him."
