POISONED GREENBRIER CHILD IMPROVING
The two-year-old Greenbrier boy who drank liquid stain remover is improving, and could go home as early as today. That's a wonderful difference from when he was taken to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in critical condition on Saturday.  

TRIAL SET FOR SMYRNA MOM ACCUSED OF MURDER
The trial has been set for next February for Smyrna woman Samantha Harper, accused of killing her two children by leaving them in a hot car last summer, while she went inside and went to sleep.  

RANDY TRAVIS IN CRITICAL CONDITION
Country singer Randy Travis is in critical condition at a Texas hospital. He has cardiomyopathy, a serious heart disease. The  Mayo Clinic website says contributing factors to cardio myopathy can be excessive use of alcohol over many years. Just last August Travis was court-ordered to go to an alcohol treatment facility, after he crashed his car in Texas. 

STATE OFFICIALS MONITORING SPILL CLEANUP
Tennessee State officials are monitoring Piedmont Gas's clean up of a bentonite spill into Seven Mile Creek. The clay material isn't toxic to humans, but it can cloud the water and harm or kill wildlife.  Last week's incident was the second bentonite spill since May. 

POPE SAYS PRIESTS AND NUNS SHOULD DRIVE HUMBLE VEHICLES
I wonder if  anybody's going to change cars because of this. Pope Francis says he thinks Catholic priests and nuns should stop driving fancy, expensive cars and choose more "humble" vehicles.

RESTAURANT WORKER POSTS VIDEO OF WHAT HE CLAIMS HIS BOSSES DO TO CHEAT INSPECTION
A whistleblower in Florida has health officials busy checking out a Florida Golden Corral restaurant. Brandon Huber posted photos and videos of meat he says his restaurant manager put out by the dumpster when inspectors came around. Huber says management ignored his complaints about storing the meat that way, so he posted the video online. Golden Corral Corporate says none of the foods were served to customers, and the manager of that restaurant was fired, immediately, for not following the company's safe food handling procedures.

AMERICAN AIRLINES ATTENDANT SUING FOR 'FALSE ACCUSATIONS'
A former American Airlines flight attendant is suing the airline for charging her with hiding pet rats in her underwear to sneak them onto the plane. She says no one ever found any rats, but she ended up blacklisted from the airline for a year, and she wants restitution.

MARIAH CAREY DISLOCATED HER SHOULDER FILMING VIDEO -
And  Mariah Carey was rushed to a New York hospital last night after dislocating her shoulder while doing a video shoot. Doctors say she's fine and recovering at home. 

SURVEY FINDS PEOPLE HAPPIER WITH FRIENDS THAN CHILDREN
What really makes you happy? A new study from London found our friends make us happiest, then our spouses or partners, and that our moods increase the least -- just over 1% -- when we're around our kids. Pets weren't included in this survey. The activities that had the greatest affect on improving moods were making love, attending concerts, theaters and museums. What makes people least happy is being sick in bed, working or studying and having to wait in lines.

Police are asking you to take a look at some surveillance photos of three young men who just went on a crime spree. Robertson County deputies say the three stole cars and burglarized places in several communities, and they may be in a red Ford Explorer, with Tennessee tags 286-HCS. That's a stolen vbehicle, too. HOME INVASION SUSPECT PRETENDED TO BE A COP

A woman and her two small children are still shaken up after a man kicked in the door of her Murfreesboro home around 2 yesterday morning, claimed he was a cop and robbed her. The weird thing is that Shakista Davis says all she can find missing is a pack of cigarettes.

You may have heard that it gets so hot in Death Valley that you can fry an egg on the road? Well a lot of people do just that, and post it online. Death Valley tourism officials say, "STOP IT!"
So many people on vacation actually bring eggs and fry them, that the mess has become a problem. Egg cartons and gooey, sticky eggs everywhere. The Death Valley Facebook page says if you've just GOTTA try it, use a frying pan.

FORMER HOSTAGES MAKE THANK YOU VIDEO
Three women held in a Cleveland home for about a decade are breaking their silence.  They've posted a thank-you video on YouTube.  In it, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight thank the public for support and request continued privacy.  Cleveland resident Ariel Castro has pleaded not guilty in the case. 


ZIMMERMAN TRIAL
The judge in the George Zimmerman murder trial has ruled that evidence can be admitted showing Trayvon Martin had trace amounts of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana in his bloodstream the night he died.

NTSB STILL INVESTIGATING CRASH
The National Transportation Board is still trying to find out exactly what caused Saturday's jetliner crash in San Francisco.  Investigators say they've walked the entire wreckage path and are interviewing the four pilots who were on board. There's been plenty of talk about the fact that the pilot in control at the time had never landed a Boeing 777 at that airport before. 

CANADIAN TRAIN EXPLOSION
At least 13 people are now confirmed dead after a massive train explosion ripped through a small Canadian town.  Several people are still missing and police fear the death toll could go as high as 50.  The driverless train was packed with 50-thousand barrels of crude oil when it somehow left the tracks Saturday and exploded in the Lac-Megantic [[ lack meg-on-TEEK ]] near Quebec's border with Maine. 

PETTUS ROAD HOMEOWNERS WANT LOWER SPEED LIMIT
Homeowners along a dangerous stretch of Pettus Road want the speed limit lowered.  They say the busy road is dangerous because of the sharp turns and steep hills, and speeding drivers make it even more dangerous.  On Sunday, a father and his infant son were killed, and the mother is in critical condition after losing control on a curve and crashing into a tree.

IRS SLIPPED, EXPOSED SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS ONLINE
The IRS is admitting it slipped up by exposing thousands of Social Security numbers on the Internet.  The numbers were posted to an IRS database for tax-exempt political groups known as 527s.  The discovery was made by the group www.PublicResource.org.
