SOME WARMING SHELTERS ACCEPTING PETS WITH COLD OWNERS
I know it's hard to even imagine this, but what would you do if you were homeless, and had a pet, but the SHELTER that offered you a warm place that might save your life, couldn't accomodate pets. What are you gonna do? Leave your precious dog on the street in this cold? Turn him in to be killed?
That's what's keeping some of Nashville's homeless people from going into shelters in this DEADLY dangerous cold weather.
The Salvation Army's Disaster Team has reported on Facebook that there are a couple of places that can handle pets, as well, including the Open Table shelters. You can get shelter information at 615-800-0195.
And the shelters are not just for homeless people. There are folks whose electricity has gone out, who may also need them. If you need a ride to the shelter, call 615-255-2475. When all else fails, call Metro and they can assist: 615-862-8600.
VOLUNTEERS GIVE RIDES TO WARMING SHELTERS

We've got the phone numbers for you on our mix facebook page. You can also just call the metro police department's non-emergency number; 862-8600.
