PART OF FIFTH AVENUE DOWNTOWN CHANGING TO TWO-WAY
Make sure you look carefully at the street signs downtown: part of Fifth Avenue is going to become a 2 way street, but only that area between Lafayette streets and James Robertson Parkway, which cuts right through the middle of downtown. It's expected to help people get around better downtown, and many business owners -- including the CEO of the new Music City Center -- were for it. It's also part of a multi-million dollar plan to upgrade the city's bus transit system. No word yet on exactly when 5th will go to a two-way street, but we'll let you know as soon as we hear a date.

Architecture professor Ellen Dunham Jones, who's met with community planning group Nashville Next, says concert lawns, parks, green spaces and individual retail spaces have been successful choices for former malls in other cities.
UNFRIENDING SOMEONE ONLINE CAN LEAD TO REAL LIFE UNFRIENDING
If you unfriend someone on Facebook, you may lose that person's friendship in real life, too. Researchers from the University of Colorado found that 40 percent of people -- women more than men -- say they'll avoid real-life contact with someone who unfriended them on Facebook.

TAYLOR SWIFT GOES ON DATE WITH CANCER SURVIVOR
Taylor Swift is a woman of her word. On Sunday before the 2013 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, the country-pop star had a long-delayed date with 19-year-old cancer survivor Kevin McGuire. In February 2012, Kevin, who was then battling leukemia, asked Taylor via his Facebook page to be his date to prom. Although Taylor couldn't make it to the dance, she asked Kevin if he'd be her date to the 2012 ACM Awards. Unfortunately, when the show rolled around on April 1, 2012, Kevin was unable to make the trip due to a chemo-induced fever. Taylor gave him a shoutout when she accepted her Entertainer of the Year award and followed that up with inviting Kevin -- and his family -- to the show the next year. "I think Taylor is one of those people who you don't really see that often. Classy, sweet and kind," Kevin told Philadelphia's CBS affiliate just weeks before the fated meeting. "Going through what we've been through... it's symbolic, in a way. It started my chapter with my cancer. Now it's behind me; I can close the book on it." And what a happy story he has to tell for many years to come. (Eonline)
FERRETS BEING SOLD AS POODLES
In Buenos Aires, several dog lovers paid out hundreds of pounds for fashionable 'toy poodles' - only to discover they were fluffed-up ferrets on steroids. One senior citizen was duped into buying two of the "pedigree" pets but when he took them to a vet for their vaccinations he was told he had bought two ferrets which are known in Argentine as 'Brazilian rats'. The ferrets had been given steroids at birth to increase their size and then had some extra grooming to make their coats resemble a fluffy toy poodle. Toy poodle puppies can cost as much as $700 while ferrets can be had for as little as $50. SEE PHOTOS HERE
