A grand jury in Sumner County has indicted Lindsey Lowe on six counts for the September killings of her newborn twin sons. The indictment, issued Wednesday, charges Lowe, 25, with two felony counts of first degree murder, two counts of premeditated murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse. In announcing the indictment, the district attorney's office also announced it will not seek the death penalty against Lowe. Each of the first degree murder counts carries the potential of a life sentence. Each aggravated child abuse charge carries a sentence of 15 to 25 years. Following her arrest on September 14, Lowe told detectives she suffocated her infant sons after giving birth to them two nights earlier in a bathroom at her parent's Hendersonville home. She is next scheduled to appear in court on November 18 when she will be formally arraigned.
