CRAIGSLIST MEETING ENDS WITH DEADLY SHOOTING
Meeting someone from Craigslist, and trying to sell guns to them at night, turned out to be a fatal decision for a Nashville man. 30 year-old Joshua McClean met two men in the parking lot of the Nashville West Shopping center, on Charlotte pike... and instead of buying the guns he was selling, the two men shot him. He died later at the hospital, and police are still looking for the shooters.

FAST TRACK FLU CLINIC OPENS TODAY
If you haven't gotten your flu shot, it's available now from the Health Department. The annual Fast Track flu clinic opens today at the Lentz Health Center, to get you in, get you vaccinated and out the door as fast and efficiently as possible. The shots cost 20 dollars, the Flu clinic is 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday, and they accept TennCare and Medicare.

CAT GOES TO VET FOR FLEA BATH BUT GETS EUTHANIZED
A Massachusetts woman has filed an official complaint saying her cat went to the veterinarian for a flea bath but was mistakenly euthanized. Colleen Conlon says her son accidentally signed the wrong papers, and they found out the 8 year-old had been put to sleep when they took another cat in for a flea bath and the vet assistant asked them if they wanted to keep the bodies. The vet is asking you to hold off on judgement until you hear the whole story.

SENATOR ASKS FOR TOUGHER PENALTIES FOR DO NOT CALL VIOLATORS
Senator Charles Schumer is introducing legislation to make telemarketers who violate the "Do Not Call list" be guilty of a felony. There've been more complaints than ever to the Federal Trade Commission about unwanted calls. In fact, it's ILLEGAL for them to call your cellphone, even if you don't have it on the "Do Not Call" list. The proposed legislation would make it a felony instead of a misdemeanor.

PUT YOUR PHONE NUMBERS ON THE "DO NOT CALL" LIST, SHARE LINKS WITH YOUR FRIENDS
Put your phone numbers on the National "Do Not Call" list, and the Tennessee "Do Not Call" Registry. You have to put them on there every 5 years.

GAS PRICES GOING DOWN
You may get a cheaper fillup next time you're at the pump. Gas prices are SUPPOSED to be going down for the first time in seven weeks.
Mix 92.9 listener Julie says she's already seen a big drop at the Kingston Springs exit off I-40. www.NashvilleGasPrices.com reports there are prices as low as 3.45 already in La Vergne,  3.49 at Dodge in Hendersonville, and 3.49 at the TA in Antioch.

EMMY WINNERS LIST
The Primetime Emmy Awards were last night: they go to favorite TV shows and actors. Homeland won four awards, Modern Family won for Comedy Series, and comedy actors Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet. John Cryer won, so did Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kevin Costner and Tom Berenger won for Hatfields and McCoys, The Amazing Race won for Reality Competition, and Tom Bergeron won for hosting Dancing with the Stars. DANCING WITH THE STARS, OTHERS, SEASON PREMIERES TONIGHT
Dancing with the Stars starts back tonight. The All-Star show includes Kirstie Alley, Apolo Anton Ohno and Shawn Johnson. Tonight's also the season premiere of "How I Met Your Mother," "Partners," "Two Broke Girls," "Mike And Molly," and "Hawaii Five-O," and late night, Jerry Seinfeld is on Jimmy Fallon's show.

TENNESSEE WOMEN EARN THOUSANDS LESS THAN TENNESSEE MEN
You're not gonna like this: women in Tennnessee earn, on average, 80 cents for every dollar a man earns in the workplace. The MEDIAN yearly pay for women -- meaning a salary right in the middle of the salary range -- is about 33 thousand a year. That's eight thousand dollars less than a man in a similar situation.

NASHVILLE PLAYER WINS PGA PRIZE, SAYS HE'LL HELP LOCALS WITH IT
Nashville resident Brandt Snedeker has won the FedEx Cup Golf championship, which has given him the biggest paycheck in golf: 11 million dollars. And guess what he's going to do with it? Brandt says his dad always taught him not to buy anything he couldn't pay for, so he has his home in Nashville, which he says is not grandiose, and he still drives the SUV he bought after he made it to the PGA Tour six years ago. He says,"Of anybody that I know, I do not need $11 million. I'll be financially stable now the rest of my career as long as I'm not an idiot... So there are going to be things we can do to really help people out in Nashville and Tennessee and the surrounding areas."  Way to make us proud, Brandt!

The Tennessee Titans beat the Detroit Lions 44 to 41 in overtime yesterday. They play the Texans in Houston this coming sunday.. They play the Houston Texans in Houston this Sunday. First team in nfl history to have 5 tds of 60 yards or more in a single game.

RAVENS PLAYER LOSES BROTHER, STILL PLAYS
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith was on the field yesterday, just one day after losing  his brother in a motorcycle accident.  He still helped the Ravens beat New England, 31-30.

VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY TO OFFER FREE ONLINE CLASSES NEXT SPRING                                                                                                              Pretty soon you'll be able to take some classes online, from Vanderbilt University. There'll be five free classes, and they'll start this spring. The only thing is you can't use them for college credit.

SPRING HILL POLICE SEARCHING FOR ROBBERY SUSPECTS
Be careful and be really aware of your surroundings as you do your grocery shopping.
Two people were robbed in the parking lot of a grocery story yesterday morning, and are okay, but lost their valuables, and their pants. The thieves just took the pants with cellphones and credit cards in them. Cops are still looking for the suspects, in a white Chevrolet Impala with big custom wheel rims.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CLOSES LA VERGNE ROAD FOR SIX WEEKS
There's a new construction project on Waldron Road in La Vergne. It's going to be blocking through traffic for about six weeks, though if you need to go to a business on Waldron Road, you can get there, and back to the interstate.

FREE CHECKING ACCOUNT USUALLY NOT FREE
Just so you don't fall for that, "It's free" line, check the fine print. Having a free checking account is usually not really free. A new survey finds bank customers need to keep an average minimum balance of 723-dollars in the so-called free accounts to keep from paying the fees. Plus, those accounts don't pay you interest, and the fees charged when you balance dips below a certain account, has gone up in most cases. Fees for using an ATM, and for overdrafts have also gone up.

MAN WHO JUMPED INTO TIGER DEN FACING CHARGES
The man who remains hospitalized after jumping in a tiger's den Friday in the Bronx Zoo now faces trespassing charges.  David Villalobos told police he wanted to be one with the tiger and it was not a suicide attempt.  The zoo says the animal did nothing wrong and will not be put down.

APPLE SALES FIGURES
How many people do you know who bought the new iPhone 5? A lot? Apple releases sales figures today and may have sold up to 10 million of the phones, in three days. (The latest smartphone from the world's most profitable company went on sale Friday morning and some stores were sold out by Saturday. )
