111 St. Thomas Patients In The Clear For Meningitis
Cases of fungal meningitis have risen to 52 in Tennessee from tainted steroid injections.  111 patients from St. Thomas Outpatient Neurosurgery center who received injections from the recalled batch appear to be in the clear.  Anyone unsure about medications, can call the Tennessee Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

Historic Nashville Firehouses To Be Expanded
Firehouses in Nashville now contain both firefighting equipment and EMS vehicles.  Rennovations and expansions will begin with older firehouses first, increasing safety throughout the city.

Babysitter Arrested in Abuse of 2 Year Old
Childcare is almost a necessity for working parents, and the fear of leaving your child in unsafe hands became real for one Clarksville mother.  A 33-year-old babysitter has been charged with abusing a 2-month-old Clarksville boy. Police say Jessica Watkins turned herself in on Saturday and is facing aggravated child abuse and neglect charges.

Bank Teller Just Says No!
It's always good news when someone stands up to the bad guy and wins, isn't it?  This wknd, an alledged bank robber walked into a San Diego bank and demanded money from a teller, who kept saying no until he showed her his gun.  He didn't. This went on until the frustrated crook walked out in a huff cash free. 


Early Voting Wednesday
Early voting begins here in Middle TN on Wednesday.  Voters must have a government issued I.D. to vote in TN and to find out the wheres and when's go to www.Nashville.gov  for an information link.

New Eye Test Detects Parkinsons
Early detection is a plus for treating any disease and a new eye test might be key in hard to detect and diagnose Parkinson's disease. Most patients experience eye tremors two years before muscular tremors begin which means treatment could begin much earlier.

14 Lost Homes in Antioch Fire
Several were forced out of their homes after a fire at Weatherly Ridge Apartments this weekend in Antioch. The fire department said they are still investigating the cause of the fire, but 14 people have lost their homes and most of their belongings.  The Red Cross was on the scene to help get displaced residents into hotels.

Anonymous Tip Leads To Meth Bust
6 people were arrested in a  meth bust in Hart County, Kentucky this wknd from an anonymous tip that lead police to find meth, marijuana, and a young child living inside a home that was being used as a meth lab. Anonymous tips can be made in nashville at 64-crime or www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.

Child Finds Parents Dead in Home in Smyrna
An 8yr old child awoke to find his parents dead from gun shot wounds from an apparent murder suicide in Smyrna this wknd, between the couple who were divorced, but had recently reconciled.  The boy, his 2 siblings, and a cousin were taken into DCS custody.

HPV Vaccine Does Not Cause Promiscuity
In a recent study in Atlanta on girls who were given the new vaccine for HPV did not become more promiscuous.  That's good news because the vaccine developed to prevent cervical cancer and was tested on girls ages 11-12, and it does not cause promiscuity as some feared. 

Man Sentenced to 18 Months
Miley Cyrus wasn't home when a 40 yr old man was arrested outside her home in studio City. He was found guilty of trespassing and resisting arrest and sentenced to 18 months in jail on Friday.

Gary Collins Passes
For those that remember pageants hosted by Gary Collins, Born Free, and Hour Magazine will mourn his loss.  He passed away Saturday of natural causes in a Biloxi, MS hospital and is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Mobley and 3 children.

Public Transit Up in Nashville
And 8.7% more folks are using public transit in middle TN for the ride to work.  10 million took public transit during the last fiscal year, reducing traffic congestion and auto emissions.  More routes are being added, including an East-West Connector connecting East and West Nashville along Bway and West End.
