FIRE OFFICIALS URGE EXTRA CAUTION THIS THANKSGIVING
As you get ready to cook your Thanksgiving meal, local firefighters are reminding you to take EXTRA care. They're extremely BUSY on Thanksgiving weekends... since cooking fires are three times more likely to happen on Thanksgiving than any other day of the year. Firefighters say if you're cooking on the stove, and you have to leave the stove.... take the spoon or spatula with you so you don't forget you're cooking.. or, better yet, turn off the heat for a minute.. And if you're frying a bird this Thanksgiving, NEVER use a fryer on a wooden deck, and keep it away from the house. Deep fryer fires cause an average of five deaths, 60 injuries, and more than $15 million in property damage each year.
THANKSGIVING TRAVEL
Remember to really focus and drive defensively this week, and tell your teenagers about it, too. This is one of the busiest weeks of the year for travel; especially on Thanksgiving day. People will be driving to and from friends and family's houses, and back and forth to the store for things they forgot, they'll be headed to the movies, and this year they'll be traveling to department stores for early so-called Black Friday sales that start as early as 6 Thursday night.
BUTTERBALL GOES ONLINE: 1-800-butterball

They still have experts manning the hotline, at 1-800-butterball, but they’ve also added a blog that has recipes like broccoli casserole with turkey bacon and mashed potatoes with chives and cheese. ... and they say their most common question is about thawing, rather than cooking the bird.

METH LAB NUMBERS REMAIN MOSTLY UNCHANGED
New laws and a new tracking system for pseudoephedrine don't seem to be slowing down Tennessee's meth problem.. More than two-thousand meth labs were busted nearly two-years ago, and police are on track for almost as many by the end of this year. Under Tennessee law, consumers are not allowed to buy more than nine-grams of pseudoephedrine in a 30-day period... but somehow the junkies are getting around that.
