WEATHER STUFF
If you don't have to drive, please stay home. There were more than 100 accidents, all at the same time, all over Nashville and middle Tennessee, as temperatures dropped and not only the bridges and overpasses iced up, but also the interstates and side roads. News2's Jerry Barlar is on the road, and says you should consider all roads in the Nashville area frozen and dangerous.
Now the snow is falling on top of the ice.

SCHOOLS CLOSED…
All schools in the Metro area, and the Mix listening area, are closed today. Check school closings under the News tab at www.mix929.com

OSCAR HOST ELLEN DEGENERES TAKES SELFIE, BREAKS TWITTER
Ellen DeGeneres got pretty good reviews for hosting the show. A survey found 60% of us loved her, including her schtick: like buying pizza and handing it out to the celebrity audience, and taking a selfie that went SO viral, it apparently crashed Twitter.

STORM NAMED TITAN
Someone pointed out that it's kind of ironic that the weather service named the storm "Titan" and it's rolling through Tennessee. Someone else made the comment, "That means it'll fizzle out, right?"
It did not.

FLIGHTS CANCELLED
This winter storm has also caused some fight cancellations, so you'll want to go to www.flynashville.com and check before you head to the airport.

CORVETTE RECOVERY TODAY
Work is scheduled to begin today to bring up the first of the classic Corvettes that fell into a sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum.  Crews had to get the area around the hole supported and ready to bear the weight of the cars. Now, they start pulling them up. Three cars at the bottom of the crater will be brought up slowly, then sent to Michigan to be restored.  The sinkhole swallowed eight Corvettes last month while the museum in Kentucky was closed.

WINTER STORM CLOSES WASHINGTON
This storm also has government offices shut down in the nation's Capital, including Congress, closed for bad weather.

INFANT SLEEP MACHINES MAY HURT BABIES' HEARING
This is scary. Those white noise machines that some parents use to help put the babies to sleep.... may damage your child's hearing! A study published in the journal "Pediatrics" reports infant sleep machines, if used for too long or at maximum volume, could damage a baby's hearing.  Researchers recommend only playing the machines quietly for a short period of time, and as far from the baby as possible. At least three feet away.

There's a 26-year-old who may finally be moving out of mom's house. Gregory Jarrett of Georgia says he was cleaning his room, found a month-old lottery ticket he'd forgotten about, checked it, then, shaking, called for his mom to come confirm it.. yep. A million-dollar winner.
