TITANS TO ANNOUNCE THIS WEEK HOW IT’LL HANDLE NEW BAG RULES AT GAMES
The Titans will announce this week how they’ll handle new rules about size limits on bags permitted at football games.
The National Football League came up with the new rules after the Boston Marathon bombings.
Starting this season, you can take in only one bag to a game, and that bag must be clear and no larger than 12 x12 x 6. You can not take in purses unless they're clutch bags, no bigger than your hand. No fanny packs, no seat cushions or even camera bags. You can take in your camera but it has to be in your clear bag. The Titans will announce this week how they'll make all that work.
HOCKEY RINK COMING TO ANTIOCH: OUTDOOR FESTIVAL TODAY
Families in the Antioch area may have a lot of kid-friendly events in their future, if the Mayor and the developer's vision for the former Hickory Hollow Mall pan out. Today's the groundbreaking for a new library, community center and park at the former Mall location, and a festival ... from 10:30 to 1... hosted by the Nashville Predators.. in honor of the new hockey rink that's being built there. The rink will double as a practice facility for the Preds. (The Preds' festival is 10:30 to 1 today, it's free, and includes inflatables, street hockey demonstrations, and more. BONNAROO TRAFFIC TODAY
The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is history, and the fans are waking up and heading home today. That means heavier-than-usual traffic on I-24 and at the airport, for those who flew in for the festival.
CAR CRASHES INTO DEMOS’ DOWNTOWN
A driver crashed a car into Demos' Restaurant, at 2nd and Commerce Street, Saturday night. Metro Police say the driver just lost control, drove the car onto the sidewalk and crashed into the window. There were no injuries, and just minor damage to Demos'.
BLACK FOREST FIRE
The Black Forest Fire is still burning. The U.S. Forest Service says Colorado's most destructive wildfire has already cost more than five million dollars to fight, and destroyed almost 500 homes.
ANOTHER FIRE IN COLORADO COULD AFFECT WATER SUPPLIES
There's another fire in Colorado, and this one, the Big Meadows Fire in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park could pollute water supplies for hundreds of thousands of people. Water district officials say with everything burned away, summer monsoons could wash debris, ash and soot right into the lake that serves people in 33 cities in Northeastern Colorado.
FIRE DESTROYS NASHVILLE CHURCH
A fire has destroyed a Nashville church. Firefighters say the blaze Sunday at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church apparently started in the kitchen.

GOOGLE GIVES $5 MILLION TO FIGHT CHILD PORN
Google is donating five-million dollars to help fight child porn on the Internet. The search engine giant says it's developing a cross industry database of encrypted child sexual abuse images. The goal is to improve detection of such images so they can be removed and also to catch more alleged child pornographers.
GUANTANAMO BEING SHUT DOWN
The wheels are in motion to shut down the U.S. military's detention center for suspected terrorists in Guantanamo, Cuba. President Obama has chosen a high-powered Washington lawyer with extensive government experience to be the State Department’s new lead in closing down the prison. Right now more than 100 prisoners are on hunger strike to protest being held for more than ten years, without a trial... and many without ever being charged with anything.
COUPLE GETS MARRIED AT BACON FESTIVAL
I expect this couple to be married forever! They not only have love for each other, but they also have another love in common. They both love BACON so much that they got married at a Bacon Festival at the San Diego Fair. Eddie And Adrienne were dressed in bacon outfits ( I don't know what that means), and their guests threw bacon bits instead of rice as they took their first steps as husband and wife.
GENERAL MOTORS EXPANDS SUV RECALL TO 480,000
General Motors is expanding its recall of SUVs to 480-thousand vehicles built in 2006 and 2007. The move broadens a recall from August of 2012 over faulty circuit boards in the driver side door that could cause fires. The recall includes the Chevy Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X and Isuzu Ascender.
OBAMA IN NORTHERN IRELAND
President Obama is in Northern Ireland this morning. (at the G8 summit.) The crisis in Syria is expected to dominate talks between Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Syria and Russia are longtime allies. One of Obama's national security advisors says it is in Russia's best interest to join international efforts to pressure Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down.
KIM KARDASHIAN AND BABY ARE HEALTHY
Kim Kardashian has had her baby. It's a girl. Both mom and daughter are said to be doing great. No word yet on what she and Kanye will name the little girl, but most guesses are that it'll start with a K.
RYAN SEACREST CONFIRMS RETURN TO AMERICAN IDOL
At least one member of the original "American Idol" family will be back for the show's thirteenth season - host Ryan Seacrest. And Keith Urban is the only season 12 judge who's still onboard for next season.
ADELE HONORED BY QUEEN OF ENGLAND
Adele is being honored by the Queen of England. The 25-year-old singer was named on the queen's annual Birthday Honors list to become a Member of the Order of the British Empire… "for services to music."

EMPLOYEE KILLED AT NISSAN PLANT
There's an investigation underway at the Nissan Plant in Smyrna, after a maintenance worker was killed early yesterday morning in an accident in the assembly area.
CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY SOCCER COACH KILLED
And the assistant women's soccer coach at Cumberland University -- Eric Susewind -- was killed early yesterday morning on I-24 near Bell Road, when he crashed into the back of a pickup, then was hit by a tractor trailer.
YOUNGEST PERSON TO BE SENTENCED TO DEATH IS FREED TODAY
An Indiana woman sentenced to death for a murder she committed when she was just 15 will walk out of prison today. Paula Cooper became the youngest Death Row inmate in America when a judge ruled she should die in the electric chair. She was convicted of killing an elderly Bible school teacher in 1985.
TERMITES EAT THROUGH WOMAN'S LIFE SAVINGS
An elderly woman in China had a near tragedy, thanks to termites! She had her $65,000 dollars stored in a wooden drawer, and went to spend some of it, only to find it infested with termites. Much of her cash was already eaten up by the bugs! She took the rest to the bank and they were able to scan in even the partial pieces of bills, so she only lost ten grand.
SURGERY BY CELLPHONE LIGHT
During a power blackout in Buenos Aires, surgeons were able to complete an emergency appendix operation using cell phone light! 29-year-old Leonardo Molina was on the operating table when the power went out. The generator failed to kick in so a family member gathered cell phones from people in the hallway and took them in to the O.R. Hey it worked and Leo is going to be okay. (Reuters)
YOU'RE GOOD, BUT NOT THAT GOOD
62-year-old Jenny Brown entered her sponge cake in a contest sponsored by an organization in Wimblington, England. She was then told she'd won 2ndplace! Yay! She later found out she was the only person who entered the contest, but didn't win 1st place, because her spongecake wasn't quite that good. Boo! (BBC News)
"MAN OF STEEL" WINS BOX OFFICE RACE
The latest Superman movie is soaring above the rest at movie theaters in the U.S. and Canada. "Man of Steel" earned 113-point-one-million dollars for the biggest June opening in history. The film stars Henry Cavill as Superman. Second place went to "This the End." The apolcalypic buddy comedy starring Seth Rogan and James Franco made 20-point-five-million dollars over the weekend.
VOTING RIGHTS ACT RULING THIS WEEK?
The U.S. Supreme Court could rule this week on a key part of the landmark Voting Rights Act. Under the 1965 law, states with a history of voter discrimination must get permission from the federal government before changing voting procedures.
At least seven people are dead and 29 others are wounded after a violence-plagued past few days in Chicago. The bloodshed happened between Friday and the end of Father's Day. Police say the youngest to die was a 16-year-old, who was shot by a gunman on a bicycle Saturday night in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

MISS CONNECTICUT IS MISS USA
Miss Connecticut is Erin Brady and she will represent the United States at the 2013 Miss Universe pageant. Miss Connecticut beat out the 50 other entrants at Sunday's "2013 Miss USA Competition" on NBC. While she came up short, Miss Alabama, Mary-Margaret McCord, ended up as the night's first runner-up.
