WINTER GEAR ITEMS NEEDED FOR HOMELESS
Several churches are collecting warm clothing for the homeless right now. They're asking you to donate coats, gloves, thermal clothing, scarves and hats.
Donations will be collected through Wednesday at New Livingstone Church on Hancock Street and will then be given to Room In The Inn, who will distribute the items to Nashville's homeless.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the flu is spreading much earlier this season, and that they haven't seen a flu season this bad, this early, in ten years. We're about five weeks ahead of schedule, and the worst is probably still ahead. More than 2-thousand were hospitalized and 18 children had died from it as of late last week. SPAM EMAILS HITTING HARD RIGHT NOW

It's happening a lot right now, that hackers are getting into accounts and sending out emails with just a link in them. If you click it, you may be downloading a virus, or -- in the best-case scenario -- you're opening a spam ad. It's a good idea to run your virus scanning software on a regular basis.

SET UP GPS ON YOUR IPHONE TO HAVE A CHANCE AT RECOVERY
And if you have an iPhone but haven't set up the GPS on it, make sure you do that TODAY. It's an app called FIND MY IPhone! Over the weekend a Mix listener left her iPhone at a grocery store, then went online and used the GPS tracking system to see that someone had taken her phone home with them. She was able to watch as they travelled down side streets near Trinity Lane. The police showed up and the woman gave back the phone, claiming she had been about to call the owner. CHEMO DUCK INTRODUCES CARTOON TO EXPLAIN CANCER TREATMENT

What started as a mom’s way to comfort her toddler who had cancer, has turned into a non-profit that helps thousands of children and families around the world. Gabe's Chemo Duck Program started when mom Lou Sipos took a stuffed duck, made it a little hospital gown, gave it a port, like kids with cancer have to receive their chemotherapy, and used it to show her little boy Gabe what was going to happen. Now, Gabe’s chemo duck has a song and a cartoon that kids can watch to understand more about what’s going on. Gabe is now a happy 11 year-old, cancer-free for 9 years. The cartoon just debuted this weekend at The Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Remember that video of the Alabama fan-- an older guy who got impossible-to-get playoff tickets from his son on Christmas, and started crying? SEE VIDEO HERE.
Well, that dad and son will be at the BCS championship game tonight as Alabama plays Notre Dame. But, Mr. Buckhannon says whether his team wins or not, just knowing what his son did for him in getting those hard to find tickets was worth more than anything!

The National Hockey League and its players' union have reached a tentative deal that would end the current lockout. Multiple sources say the tentative deal would be for ten years. The agreement still has to be approved by the NHL's Board of Governors and the membership of the players' union.
