SALVATION ARMY STILL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH ANGEL TREE SIGNUP
The Salvation Army says it still needs come help getting people signed up for the Angel Tree program which helps families, kids and elderly people at Christmas. Volunteers signed up more than 200 applicants a day last year and this year is expected to be just as busy. AIR MARSHAL ARRESTED AT NASHVILLE AIRPORT
One creepy guy off the streets... millions more to go. A federal air marshal was arrested at Nashville International Airport yesterday after allegedly being caught taking cell phone photos up women’s dresses and skirts as they boarded a flight from Nashville to Tampa. Another passenger says he caught Adam Bartsch taking a photo, grabbed the phone from him and called a flight attendant. Bartsch was taken off the plane and arrested, and admitted he’d done it before.

11 YEAR-OLD MURFREESBORO BOY ASKS FOR PET SUPPLIES FOR HIS BIRTHDAY

It worked last year, so a Murfreesboro Boy is doing it again this year… asking for PET SUPPLIES for his birthday. Hunter Thornhill, who’ll be 12 next week, says he’s already collected nearly 600 pounds of pet food for shelter dogs and cats, and he’ll deliver it next weekend to shelters in Rutherford County. TITANS' COAT DRIVE THIS WEEKEND
When you get home, how about you open that closet door and grab up three or four of those old coats you have ... but never wear, or the ones that someone's grown out of? The Tennessee Titans are holding their annual coat drive before Sunday’s game with the San Francisco 49ers at LP Field.
(You can bring in new or used coats, and the drop-off sites are near the LP Field entrances.... The coats will be distributed to local non-profits next week, in time to help homeless, needy and women and kids in domestic violence shelters. )

Titans quarterback Jake Locker is being "cleared for contact," but it's still not a sure-thing that he'll play this weekend.

The Better Business Bureau is hosting free shred days tomorrow in several middle Tennessee communities.. including Nashville, Clarksville, Cookeville,
Columbia, Franklin and Murfreesboro. You can shred all that old paperwork so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. We'll post the specifics on the mix news page.

MATH TEACHER ACCIDENTALLY SHOWS PARTIALLY NUDE PHOTO IN CLASS
A math teacher at a Murfreesboro High School has been reprimanded for accidentally showing a picture of a partially nude man… instead of a math equation on the screen in front of the students. Randy McClellan has taught at Oakhill High for more than ten years with no problems whatsoever, school officials investigated and say they're satisfied it was just a mistake, since McClellan was using his personal device to display the lesson on the screen...

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH RIPOFFS
WHAT IS 'PINKWASHING'
AND WHY SHOULD YOU STEER CLEAR?
You know what pinkwashing is? It's where companies use pink packaging on their labels, that make you BELIEVE they're doing something to support breast cancer research, but they're not. Pink Washing is also when someone tells you to post on your facebook page that you're going to some country for 6 months, or your bra color. Those things do nothing to help find a cure. They're just called 'pinkwashing' things to LOOK like something's happening.
   If you really want to help, you can donate online, and share THAT link with your friends, or you can take part in something like the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Nov 2nd.

HOW MANY PUSHUPS ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO DO FOR YOUR AGE?
What's the perfect exercise to see how fit you are? Some doctors say... the plain-old pushup is the ultimate measure of your fitness since it uses muscles in your whole body. If you're a 40 year old woman they say you should be able to do 16 pushups... at least... Men of the same age should be able to do 27 push-ups. By age 60, women should still be able to do six push-ups and men 17.

You're not alone if you occasionally sneak a peek at your kid's smartphone. A new poll shows 43 percent of parents "occasionally" scroll through their kids' messages, about one in three say they check on their child's phone activity without them knowing. Like... looking online. Didn't know we could do that, did you, kids... ?

ORPHAN STANDS UP IN FRONT OF CHURCH AND ASKS SOMEONE TO ADOPT HIM. SO FAR, NO TAKERS
We have an update on that poor kid.. the 15-year-old orphan who stood up in church recently and asked someone, anyone, to adopt him and be his family. DAYveeON was born while his mother was in jail, and spent his entire life in foster homes. The foster program says it's gotten several hundred calls asking about him, but so far, everybody's just kind of window-shopping.. no real takers. Have you heard the uproar over the Melissa McCarthy Elle cover? Some people are asking why they dressed her in a big coat, when other stars on the cover are wearing skimpy outfits. Melissa, who looks STUNNING on the cover, says she's totally happy with the cover.

It's looking more likely that the Jonas Brothers really have broken up.. .their Twitter account is gone.

WHISKEY STOLEN
There are some very sad, dry  people in Kentucky today. Someone stole 195 bottles of rare Kentucky bourbon worth up to 233-thousand dollars from a distillery in Frankfort. Investigators think it was an 'inside job.'

3-YEAR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT STARTS IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY SUNDAY
Get ready for a big, ongoing construction project south of Franklin starting this weekend. TDOT is starting a road widening project on I-65, between Peytonsville Road, south to the 840 bypass. The 46 million dollar project is expected to take more than two years to finish. (June of 2016.)

YES OR NO FOR ANOTHER STOPLIGHT ON NOLENSVILLE ROAD
Proposals for a new traffic signal and sidewalks at the intersection of Nolensville Road and Brewer Drive were debated at a community meeting in the Tusculum area last night. Opinions at the meeting were split. Supporters said the additions would make the area safer, while opponents argued an extra traffic light would only cause more traffic delays. They didn't make any decisions, yet... just got the discussion rolling.
