GEORGE JONES' FUNERAL: MOVING MOMENT
The biggest story in town for about three hours yesterday was George Jones' funeral. People were sitting in their offices watching Vince Gill and Patty Loveless sing "Go Rest High On That Mountain," and then when Vince started crying, everybody did. Friends also told stories of Jone's kindness, his love for his widow, Nancy, and told funny stories about George. Nancy Jones sat flanked by former first lady Laura Bush and Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
SECRET GENEROSITY OF GEORGE JONES
George Jones has been buried at Woodlawn cemetery off Thompson Lane, where Tammy Wynette, his former wife and singing partner, is also buried. And something that a lot of people didn't know about George is that he had pre-paid for 30 cemetery plots at Woodlawn to give to artists who die penniless.

Southern California firefighters were battling a growing, brush-fueled wildfire early Friday that had reached the beach in Ventura County and was pushing toward the upscale city of Malibu, officials said.
The so-called Springs Fire, made worse by howling Santa Ana winds and unusually dry vegetation, was within "seven or eight miles" of Malibu at 2 a.m. local time (5 a.m. ET), Ventura County Fire Department spokesman Bill Nash said.

Before you agree, the researchers also say it's probably the FAULT of the baby-boomer generation for creating a culture that breeds narcissism and entitlement. The study says teens today are more likely than boomers to want a vacation home, but there's a, "growing disconnect between their willingness to do the work to pay for these things."
MAYOR'S FIELD DAY TOMORROW
And tomorrow (Saturday), 9 to noon, is the Mayor's Field Day at LP Field. It's fun and games with the Mayor and Tennessee Titans, to show kids and their families that exercise can be fun.

REESE WITHERSPOON APOLOGIZES FOR BEHAVIOR DURING DUI STOP
Actress Reese Witherspoon has been fined 213 dollars for her recent disorderly conduct incident with a Georgia State Police officer, and says she just panicked when her husband got pulled over for driving erratically. She says that's why she acted out. See the DASH-CAM VIDEO. Witherspoon has apologized for the incident, saying she's mortified. Her husband faces DUI charges.
JEFF FOXWORTHY, BILL ENGVALL AND LARRY THE CABLE GUY PLAN THEME PARK
Three men who've made a fortune from all things redneck, are about to start a new venture. Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy say they're going to build a theme park. The Foley, Ala. locale, titled Blue Collar Country, has been described by Foley mayor John Koniar as Branson, Mo., meets Six Flags. If the Alabama location is successful, they plan to open as many as 6 more around the country. You know who's the brains behind the idea? Singer Tony Orlando. He came up with the idea and found the location.
NO DEATH PENALTY FOR MARYLAND
Maryland has just become the 18th state to prohibit capital punishment... and do away with the death penalty.
LOHAN GOES TO REHAB TODAY OR GOES TO JAIL
Lindsay Lohan is up against a new deadline. She reportedly failed to check in to her rehab program Thursday, per her court-ordered deadline, and now has until this morning to do so, or face arrest. Lohan was ordered to 90 days in rehab in March.
Yesterday morning, a judge approved her last-minute decision to enter a rehab facility in Newport Beach, California instead of a treatment center in New York. But her father, said Lindsay left shortly after she arrived there because she "was not happy with the place."
BOSTON BOMBERS MAY H AVE PLANNED ATTACKS FOR FOURTH OF JULY
More information coming out about the two accused Boston bombers: they may have originally planned their attack for the 4th of July, but chose the Boston Marathon instead because they finished making their bombs earlier than they anticipated.
MAN ACCUSED OF GRABBING MORE JOGGERS
A man accused of grabbing joggers in Davidson County is facing more charges. Police say Eric Wheeler was originally arrested in February for assaulting two women and during questioning, admitted to "a fascination with women in public places ." He is now being linked to four additional incidents.
ILLEGAL NASHVILLE DUMP SITE TEST POSITIVE FOR ASBETSTOS
Somebody's been dumping trash, illegally, on 26th Avenue North, and the Health Department says it needs to be cleaned up, because it's become a health hazard. It contains asbestos, which can cause cancer. The owner of the property says he didn't put it there, but the city has given him ten days to clean it up.
