LEGAL OPINION: U.S. POSTAL SERVICE MUST DELIVER 6 DAYS A WEEK
Will we, or won't we, have Saturday mail delivery? The legal opinion from the nonpartisan U.S. Government Accountability Office, or GAO, puts it in doubt... as the GAO stopped short of saying the U.S. Postal Service's plan to end most Saturday mail service violates the law, but did say the Postal service should keep the 6 day delivery. No word yet on whether that'll change the post office's plans for the cut-down.

PEDIATRICS GROUP BACKS GAY MARRIAGE, SAYS IT HELPS CHILDREN
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says after its latest research, the group supports same-sex marriages, because it helps the couple's children. The AAP policy statement said, "Children thrive in families that are stable and that provide permanent security, and the way we do that is through marriage." (The research showed no cause-and-effect relationship between parents' sexual orientation and children's well-being… but did find kids did better with any couple when the child is wanted and parents are committed to each other. As a result of those studies, AAP also says it supports full adoption and foster care rights for all parents.)

LOVIN' THIS LADY! ANTIOCH MCDONALD'S MANAGER GIVEN RAY KROC AWARD
At the crack of dawn every Thursday six men representing six different churches get together for fellowship and Bible study. There was nothing unusual about that, except where they choose to worship. Not at a church or someone's home, but at the Hickory Hollow McDonald's in Antioch, and that was all thanks to store manager Patty Powers."She's a genuine person, and we just like it here," said bible study member David Jordan. "She treats you like royalty."  They've been going to that McDonald's week after week for the past five years.
"I try to act like this is my house," said Patty. "The customers aren't just my customers, they're my guests."
Not only did the Bible study group recognize her outstanding service, so did the McDonald's corporation.  "I was just so blown away with excitement," said Powers. "I couldn't believe that they selected me."
She was selected for the Ray Kroc Award, which is only given to the top one percent of McDonald's managers across the country, and there are 14,000 restaurants.
"I think everybody should be nice," Powers said. "If you just wake up every morning, smiles are free. If you're nice to everybody just imagine how much better the world's going to be."
McDonald's will be flying Powers and her husband out to Chicago for a special awards ceremony next month. She will take home a trophy, a check and the honor of being recognized for her dedication.

Jay Leno is still laughing about the late-night drama he's found himself at the center of.  "Are you all excited about March Madness?” he asked the Tonight Show audience. “Are you all into March Madness? People are talking about who’s in, who’s out, who’s gonna be eliminated. And that’s just here at NBC. I’ve never been in the paper this much. It’s fantastic." Insiders think "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon will soon take over.

National Chip Day is tomorrow (Saturday), so Tostitos is releasing a survey they did recently, and got some disgusting results. Almost half of men between 18 and 34 say they double dip: put a chip into the dip, bite from it, and dip all those germs back into the dip.  The younger the person, the more likely they are to double-dip, and men are much more likely than women to do it.

MOM ASKS SEVEN-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER TO PEPPER SPRAY SOMEONE
A Pennsylvania woman is unlikely to win any mothering awards this week after allegedly asking her seven-year-old daughter to use pepper spray against discount store employees who were trying to kick her out.  According to the "Philadelphia Daily News," Delaina Garling and her two kids tried to enter a Family Dollar in Upper Darby on Monday even though she had been banned from the store for theft.  Police say the manager recognized Garling and started to escort her out.  But it turns out she really didn't want to leave, so she whipped out the pepper spray and gave the manager and another employee a face-full.  The manager eventually wrestled Garling to the ground, which is when she allegedly handed the pepper spray to her daughter and said, quote, "You know what to do baby.  Spray it!"  But the young girl chose to disobey mom this time around, and she and her brother were later placed in the custody of their father.  Garling, meanwhile, was arrested and charged with simple assault, as well as other related offenses.
