INCREASED SECURITY FOR TOMORROW'S MARATHON
Security is tight for the Marathon and Half Marathons tomorrow in downtown Nashville. There'll be extra law enforcement officers on duty, and a no bag zone at the start and finish lines, on lower Broadway and at LP Field. You can't have purses, duffels, any kind of bag in those areas, even if you're competing. 
WEATHER FOR THE RACE
The good news for runners and spectators is that it'll be a mild day: around 50 for the race start at 7am, and up to about 75 by lunchtime.  
More than 30-thousand people are expected to take part. That means lots of street closings now, and a HUGE mass of people heading OUT of downtown after the race.

ROAD CLOSURES FOR THE MARATHON SATURDAY MORNING
 
WOMAN RESCUED AT PERCY PRIEST LAKE FOLLOWING ALTERCATION
There was some drama at Percy Priest lake late last night. Two ladies got into a fight, and one ended up pepper spraying the other, and then calling firefighters to rescue her from a little island in the lake where they were all camping. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for scratches and minor injuries. No charges have been filed over the fight. 

MAN APOLOGIZES FOR CHURCH BURGLARIES
An 18-year-old charged with a string of church burglaries in Maury county has had a change of heart. After three weeks in jail, Steven Ralston has gone from denying he was involved and saying detectives couldn't prove anything, to saying he's sorry he robbed the churches, and says he made a mistake and will do better when he gets out of jail. No word so far from his alleged accomplice, 18 year old Austin Pratt.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SCHOOL BUS CRASH
Authorities in Southern California are still trying to figure out what caused a school bus carrying kids to crash into a tree yesterday afternoon in Anaheim.  The driver and two students are in critical condition.  

MILEY CYRUS LEAVES HOSPITAL
Miley Cyrus has been released from the hospital after a horrible, allergic reaction to some meds. Her people say she's feeling much better and ready to start the European leg of her current tour. She'll make up her six cancelled U.S. tours in August, including the one we were supposed to have here in Nashville.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY TEACHING ASSISTANT CHARGED WITH MISCONDUCT
A teaching assistant at Riverdale High School in Rutherford County is suspended without pay and charged with misconduct, extortion and assault, involving at least one student. Maurice O'Neal has worked for the school district since 2010.

MURFREESBORO MAN ARRESTED FOR RIDING MOWER WHILE DRUNK
A 48-year-old Murfreesboro man has been arrested for riding his lawnmower while drunk. This is the second time in less than a week that 48-year-old Patrick Moore has been arrested for doing it. His stepdaughter says Moore went to rehab and was able to stop drinking for a year, but has relapsed. Police charged Moore this time, with his fourth DUI and a second offense of driving on a revoked license.  His family says they're not going to enable him by bailing him out of jail this time. They just want him to get help before he hurts himself, or runs over some kid.

BEYONCE GETS PEOPLE'S 'MOST INFLUENTIAL' COVER 
Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People" issue is out, 32-year-old singer Beyonce made the cover.
SETH MEYERS HOSTS EMMYS
Seth Meyers made the list. The new Late Night Show host has also been chosen to host the Emmy Awards in August. Last year Neil Patrick Harris did.

10-YEAR-OLD GIRL WITH JOBLESS DAD GIVES RESUME' TO FIRST LADY 
Michelle Obama's annual question-and-answer session with the children of Executive Office employees took a serious turn yesterday when a 10-year-old girl in the front row told the first lady that her dad had been out of work for three years, then handed the first lady her father's resume. Mrs. Obama took the resume' and says she'll deal with it later.

FRIENDS REUNION? YEAH... NO.
If you've been dreaming about a Friends reunion movie or TV show, Courtney Cox who played Monica on the long-running series, told David Letterman it's just not gonna happen. She says she's been trying for ten years to get the whole cast together for a DINNER and can't make THAT happen.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTACKING WOMAN IN NASHVILLE ALLEY
PLEASE be aware of your surroundings, when you're out walking. A woman who was walking through the alley at 16th Avenue North and Buchanan, says she got into an argument with Christopher Hatcher in the alley, and then that he came up behind her, grabbed her and started choking her. He's been arrested.

EARLY VOTING NUMBERS UP IN DAVIDSON COUNTY
So far we're at least turning out to vote. Officials say early voting numbers are up in Davidson County... ahead of the May 6th primary election.

MAN WITH SERVICE DOG REFUSED SERVICE
A Minneapolis man is suing a local McDonald's for twice refusing to serve him because he had a service dog.  Robert Mingo was eventually served both times, but the lawsuit claims a manager ordered him not to eat in the dining room the second time.  

MICROSOFT PHONES
Microsoft is wrapping up its deal to pick up Nokia's smartphone business.  Microsoft closes the seven-billion dollar deal todqay, and then slowly, Nokia phones will start becoming MIcrosoft phones.

DUCK DYNASTY LIVE SHOW CANCELED FOR POOR TICKET SALES
A "Duck Dynasty Live" show, scheduled for Missouri this weekend, has been canceled due to poor ticket sales.

MEG RYAN TO NARRATE "HOW I MET YOUR FATHER"
Meg Ryan is heading to the small screen to narrate the new "How I Met Your Mother" spin-off, "How I Met Your Dad." She's been cast as the future version of main character, Sally, played by Greta Gerwig, according to Deadline.com.

SELFIE-FREE GRADUATION?
This year's commencement at the University of South Florida will be selfie-free. (Yeah, let's see how that turns out.)
Dean Michael Freeman says they want students to "think about the dignity of the ceremony" and refrain from taking photos of themselves with the university's president while receiving their diplomas.
Freeman says students who violate the selfie ban run the risk of facing disciplinary action.
