Race for the Cure 2010
The 2010 Race for the Cure was held on Saturday, October 9 at Maryland Farms in Brentwood. The Komen Greater Nashville Race for the Cure is much more than a race for runners or fitness walkers. It is an opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to show support for those who are winning the battle with breast cancer, to honor ones who have lost the battle, and to help raise funds to fight the disease.
This year, Mix 92.9 and Gary Force Acura teamed up to bring back the Komen Quilting Corner. The Komen Quilting Corner gave race participants the opportunity to decorate a quilt square in honor of or in memory of someone who has been impacted by breast cancer. Following Race for the Cure, the squares were sewn into quilts and donated to the Nashville Chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This year's fabric was donated by The Fabric House.
In addition, Melinda Doolittle performed and some of Race Day's traditions continued with Survivor-Palooze, Susan's Garden, and the march of Survivors to the starting line.
We hope to see you this year at Race for the Cure!
