Colon Cancer Detection & Prevention

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and right now more than 148,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer each year.  This disease causes almost 50,000 deaths annually, and is the 2nd leading cancer killer in the U.S, but the good news is, it’s preventable more than 90% of the time.  The key is early screening and detection. Dr. Alan Herline joins us from the Vanderbilt Cancer Center to talk about the importance of getting a regular exam, and about the latest technology, such as “virtual colonoscopies”, that are making it easier than ever to be cancer-free! To learn more, tune in, and check out VanderbiltColorectal.com.
