Vanderbilt University has kicked Wide Receiver Chris Boyd off the team, just days after he entered a conditional guilty plea for his role in trying to cover up the alleged rape of an unconscious student in late June. Boyd is still enrolled at Vandy as a student.

NEW JERSEY SHORE FIRE DESTROYS 50 BUSINESSES
Nearly 50 businesses along New Jersey's Seaside Park boardwalk are reduced to ashes after a massive fire on Thursday.  About 400 firefighters were brought in from all over the state as the wind swept the blaze over a four-block area.  The fire hit an area that is still recovering from last year's Hurricane Sandy.

She was last seen at her mother's house last Friday night. She's white, 5'5", 170 pounds, blonde hair and blue eyes. CONGRESS BACK IN SESSION
Congress returns to work today amid a raging debate over what, if anything, to do about the situation in Syria. Lawmakers are expected to take up a resolution this week that would allow the President to move forward with strikes in Syria, but support for that move is divided.

A new survey finds 6 in 10 Americans do NOT want the United States to make a military strike against Syria. President Obama, meanwhile, is making a media push to change our minds.

President Obama has a full schedule today. It's his last day at the G-20 summit in Russia: he'll meet with presidents of China and of France .. and then... he'll hold a news conference this morning... around 9 Central time.
Next week, the House and Senate are expected to vote on his request to authorize missile strikes against Syria.
