Mom told me to marry a man who is good with his hands. (OK, get your mind out of the gutter.)
Thankfully, I did.
I bought some new Patio Furniture this week because our 10 year old table and chairs were kaput! Well, the "Easy to Assemble" claim was a big fat lie! They included some stinky little allen wrench to put it together. Seriously? 7 pieces of furniture? Have they lost their minds? That would take a month!
Fortunately, I MARRIED an Alan wrench!
If you have little people, you are likely family with this character or some facsimile thereof.
Flat Stanley has made it's way into my family and I am under pressure to come up with creative ways to photograph him. It's easy to hit all the local landmarks but here are some of the creative ways I've seen:
You can't tell me you have never had a Fluffernutter!

My favorite part of the awards shows is the In Memorium. Is that Sick? Probably. But after all is said and done, I like to remember, who I forgot to remember that I forgot. What's wrong with that? However, I always try to find people that were left out and this year's Oscar's was no exceptions.
I just stumbled across this recipe that made me wish it was Thanksgiving. There's no rule that says I can't make it anytime, but it looks and sounds and probably smells like Thanksgiving! SWEET POTATO CUBES WITH CINNAMON ALMONDS 1/2 cup Cinnamon Spiced Almonds 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed 3 TBSP olive oil 1 tsp lemon juice 2 TBSP honey (or pure maple syrup) 2 tsp ground cinnamon Dash of nutmeg 1/8 tsp salt 1/4 tsp ground black pepper Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, then add them to a mixing bowl.
Bah Humbug! Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Do you care? Are you excited? Or do you just wish it would go away. In all the conversations I have had about this, most people either don't care one way or the other. OR they dread it.
