How the world will finally come to an end...
My oldest son, Tyler, just turned 15. We went to the DMV on his birthday and he got his Learner's Permit. My job now is to teach him how to drive.
Thankfully, he is already fairly accomplished in this task, but nevertheless we still need to work on the finer points.
Have you seen the Bad Lip Reading videos?
Once you start, you won't be able to stop.
This past weekend I had the opportunity to go out to Sedona, Arizona to hang out with the cast and crew of TNT's new show "Falling Skies". (BTW - It's a totally awesome show. I loved every minute of it. Give it a shot...Sunday night at 8pm).
We had a blast!
We stayed at the Enchantment Resort. It's pretty much the most beautiful hotel in the world...
It's hard to believe that we have been in China for 2 1/2 weeks now. Some days it feels like we just got here, others it feels like we've been here forever.
None of us are looking forward to the long plane rides ahead of us tonight, but we are all ready to be home.
Yesterday we flew from Nanchang to Guangzhou. It was a one hour flight, but it felt like a completely different world when we stepped off the plane. Guangzhou is about as Westernized as you can get in China. Nanchang is about as far as you can get from Western society.
CJ felt like all was right in her world when she saw this sign.
Today was a tough day. It was an awesome day, but a tough day none the less. Today our travel group boarded a bus and went from Nanchang to Fengcheng.
It's about a 90 minute drive to Fengcheng, but it seems like a million miles away from where we are staying. The streets are lined with rice fields and people selling sugar cane. Little children run along the sides of the small streets between school and home with no parents in sight. Cars fly past them with only inches to spare, but amazingly, the kids know what to do and no one gets hurt.
Here's a pic from "Gotcha Day". This was right after we got her.
About 30 seconds after this picture was taken, she started to cry. She didn't stop for about 3 hours. She also would scream every time I showed up.
Eventually she calmed down and everything seems great right now. She eats like a horse and is always on the go.
We got our baby girl today!!!!!!! Just a few minutes ago.
She is so beautiful. I will try to post a picture soon, but I can only get on the internet through our hotel TV right now.
She thinks her mommy hung the moon..right now, she'd like me to be on the moon. :-) I'm sure she will figure out that I'm ok too pretty soon.
Wow! What a week this has been!
CJ and I left Nashville around 4pm on 11/3 and arrived in Hong Kong 27 hours later on 11/5. We never saw 11/4. (That's a weird feeling to "skip" an entire day).
I will admit that I was happy about our 6 hour layover in Los Angeles. It gave me a chance to cruise out of the airport and over to the nearest In-N-Out Burger for my Double Double fix.
Our flight from LA to Hong Kong was 15 hours...ugh! And the girl next to me was sick...double ugh! But we made it, and so far we are still healthy.
