A new lightning detection system has been installed across parks in Hendersonville.
It can detect lightning in the atmosphere within a 2-mile radius. Basically, when it’s detected, a horn will go off in the park and a strobe light will flash. This helps tell visitors to seek shelter and stay out of the field. After it’s safe again, 3 horns will sound. Our friend Andy Gilley and his parks and rec team are really doing some great work over there in Hendersonville to keep residents safe.
